Taking December Off

Hi all;

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've decided to take December off writing as I prepare to edit and revise the novel. November took the wind out of my writing sails, it would seem, so I'm refuelling as I go along.

I wish everyone a super-happy, ultra-merry Ho-Ho, and an incredible New Year. Check back in the first week of January for the first Fiction Friday update of 2006!

Week #7 – December 2, 2005

The two boys sat playing together in the sandbox; one eight, the other ten. They rolled their Tonka trucks around their imaginary construction site, moving untold amounts of sand, gravel and other construction debris. Their mother called out the window of the nearby house (a stand-alone red-brick bungalow) that dinner would be ready in five minutes; that it was time to come inside. Boys being boys they merely looked up for a moment, just in time to see her duck back inside the still-open window, then went back to their work.

And very important work it was, for they had been commissioned by the Prime Minister himself to build—
